Informative: Chemistry Elements Magazine
The “Elements Magazine” has students writing in science! By creating a family produced magazine, centered on the elements of the periodic table, homeschool parents and students will learn about chemistry while improving writing and technology skills.
Elements Magazine:
Students will create articles for a magazine on the elements of the periodic table. Each article will cover a different element and be two pages in length. The articles should include student research on the element, its molecular structure, discovery, and use today. Students of all ages can work together on the magazine, each article reflecting the individual students capabilities.
Students will create one entry over a two-week time frame. The lesson will be repeated four times. At the end of the eight weeks designated for article writing, students will spend one week co-operatively constructing the magazine. All entries will be collected into one bound magazine at the end of the project.
